Dr. Kay M. Baker
Dr. Kay Baker is a 1984 graduate of Kansas State University. She worked one year at the university’s animal resource facility before moving to West Virginia, where she worked for 2 years in a large multi-doctor small animal hospital. In 1987 she and her husband purchased Lebanon Road Animal Hospital. She is a long time member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Tennessee Veterinary Medical Association, and the Nashville Academy of Veterinary Medicine.
The greatest reward of being a small animal veterinarian is being able to help families enjoy a long and healthy relationship with their pet. From the first visit with a feisty puppy or kitten until the tough decisions that have to be made with an elderly pet, Dr. Kay’s goal is to make sure all pet owners are the best owners possible.
She is married to Dr. Ben Baker and has four children, four grand children, and three “furry” children that keep her busy.
In her free time, Dr. Kay loves to ride motorcycles with her husband and tour this beautiful country of ours. Together they have ridden thousands of miles, visited all 50 states, and have seen many spectacular sites.
I live in Gallatin, moved from Kentucky about 3 years ago. I have 3 dogs. Pancho, Phoebe and Ben. You can always find us at the dog park or in the pool. I’ve been married for 6 years, to my husband Dennis, who is originally from Nashville. I’ve been working in the animal field for 2 years, but around animals my entire life!
Joanne has been a staff member at Lebanon Road Animal Hospital since 2007. Her easy going, laid back nature is the result of over 15 years experience working in a veterinary office. This after retiring from AT, Joanne enjoys working in her yard when time allows.
Amanda Daves was born and raised in Mississippi. She has a big heart and it shows with animals. Prior to working in Veterinary Medicine she had been working as a dental hygienist. When she moved to Tennessee she wanted to pursue her passion of working in Vet Med.
In 2013 she began at a small animal practice as a Veterinary Technician. She is amazing in communicating with clients and has a special way with animals. Her home is full with 4 cats and 2 dogs. She loves to spend time boating with her husband and daughter.
Brett Buckley was born and raised in Louisville, KY. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisville. She moved to Nashville about a year ago with her boyfriend as he pursues Pharmacy school at Belmont University. She has always had a passion for animals. Her dad was a jockey, so she grew up loving and caring for horses and all kinds of barn animals. Brett has been working in Veterinary Medicine for a little over 2 years now and loves every minute of it.
Brett has 3 rescue animals of her own. 2 cats and 1 dog. (Fun Fact: Brett and Amanda both have cats named Toothless… and no they didn’t plan it!) She plans on adopting/rescuing many more animals in the future as soon as she gets a bigger back yard! Her hobbies (outside of loving on her animals) include Broadway musicals, binge watching Parks and Recreation & The Office, and enjoying as much time with family as she can.
